Locke is charged in connection with an armed robbery that took place on Tuesday, March 29, around 2:00 a.m. at the residence of 37-year-old Kim Chun Chee, a businessman of #104 Corner Vernon and Zericote Streets, upstairs Brad?s Wholesale Store. Chee was reportedly accosted, tied up with duct tape and robbed of a large sum of cash and valuables totaling over $70,000.


Chee told Amandala today, ?I had just come home and was trying to open the door when three men appeared. They were hiding under the steps and were armed with three shotguns and another gun.?


Chee said, ?The men, who were communicating with walkie-talkies, took two chests containing money.?


?They tied me and my cousin up with duct tape.?


29-year-old Hai Zhu was in the house watching television when the robbery occurred.


It is said that one of the chests contained approximately US $22,000 and the other BZ $10,000. Personal documents, including Chee?s Belizean passport, were also inside the safe.


The thieves also took off with Chee?s licensed .25 gun, two cell phones valued at $600 each, an MP3 walkman and his green Isuzu Rodeo, bearing license plate C-25852, valued at an estimated value of $17,000.


Police were able to recover the vehicle around 10:10 a.m., Tuesday March 29, near the end of the Lord Ridge Cemetery.


Police also found a .25 pistol, along with BZ$800, US$400 and pieces of jewelry.


Magistrate Margaret McKenzie, who presided over the court, remanded Locke to the Hattieville Prison until Thursday, April 7, when he is scheduled to reappear in court.


Police are seeking three other suspects in connection with this incident.
