BELMOPAN, Fri. Oct. 15, 2021– A communique issued on the Government of Belize Press Office website notifies the public that there will be a Special Sitting of the House of Representatives on Monday, October 25, and on Thursday, October 28, 2021.

The sittings will commence at 10:00 a.m. in the National Assembly Chamber in Belmopan. Monday’s Special Sitting will be the first Special Sitting of the House of Representatives since September 3. While these meetings are still closed to the public, persons in the media who are allowed entry will be required to show proof of vaccination or a recent valid negative PCR test.

All COVID-19 safety protocol will be in place. That includes mandatory wearing of face masks, social distancing and proper sanitization of hands.

Section 7 of the new SI 119 of 2021 outlining the COVID-19 regulations makes provision for these new regulations at the National Assembly and all other government-owned buildings.
