Steven August, 23, of the Lake I area, is presently at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after a man approached him and shot him in the chest tonight a little after 8 o’clock on Crown Street, in the La Croix Boulevard area of Lake I.
August told police he was riding his bicycle when a man known to him approached him, and there were words exchanged between them. The man then pulled out a gun and shot him three times at close range, before escaping into the surrounding area.
August was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, and police are now looking for his assailant.
