Look up those words, and one of the first descriptions is violence, violence against women especially! You Belizean men, and you immigrants who bring your macho bullsh*t with you from wherever you came from, stop it! Men killing women because they can’t handle the fact that they are inadequate when it comes to taking care of their women in every respect, and take it out on the women? I remember when OJ was accused of killing his ex and her lover — and I believe that he was guilty—some people were trying to justify his actions. Wtf? Accept being rejected and move on. There’s always someone out there who will love you, hopefully!
This is not new—men, and less often women, abusing their wives or partners, or women in general! In Belize there has been a recent rise in violence against women especially. These men have that “if I can’t have her, no one else can” mentality, that mindset that never ends well. We just saw examples of this with the policeman who pistol-whipped the Olympian, and the idiot who set his woman on fire, and there are many other examples. But most women suffer in silence; they feel that they can’t survive on their own; they need the monster to take care of them! Shame on you women, who allow yourselves to become punching bags, or worse, fatal statistics!
We live in a time when porn is easier to access than finding a good restaurant! The marriage rate in Japan has dropped precipitously, because young men in their 20’s and 30’s prefer porn sites to dating a real person. Some of them admit that they have never dated! I was chasing women when I was 12, so I can’t wrap my mind around that fact. It’s easier and less complicated for them, because the modern woman will not tolerate the disrespect, the marginalization, which they once had to endure.
A real man wants a strong, independent woman as a partner, in my opinion. Nobody wants a partner, man or woman, who is so pliant that one can do whatever they want with that person. But these men with shortcomings that they were born and endowed with, are the worst, like Trump. They love to talk down to, look down at women as a threat if they stand up for themselves! These cowards do not like to be challenged because they think they are the alpha and the omega!
A real man wants someone they can look up to, respect, admire, cherish, love, and defend, when needs be. A real man knows when to walk away and start over. A real man does not abuse a woman because he doesn’t like what she says or what she wears or how she looks! A real man looks at a woman as a partner, not as someone to own, or have control over.
Please stop being a**holes! Please stop beating up women! Please stop believing that “honor and obey” garbage. I hope they have stopped using that term during marriage ceremonies! It is such an offensive term, especially the “obey” part.
I think living in a different society from the one I was brought up in made me look at life differently. I too, was once overbearing and expecting too much from my ex. But I grew up and started to appreciate women for their character, their strength; by the way, they are much stronger than we men could ever be! I look at them as equals, not as a possession.
And you women, who put up with the abuse and the beatings and stay in your “happy relationships,” stop it also! Do not be an enabler; your life won’t get better, and such actions can lead to fatal consequences! If someone doesn’t appreciate you, or doesn’t respect you, move on! No excuses like, “Ok, I have kids,” or, “I’m broke”; f*** that! Move out and move on, and live, and respect yourself!
Toxic masculinity has many meanings, but the violence against, and even hatred of women, are the worst in my opinion!
