BELIZE CITY, Fri. Feb. 28, 2020– An unwelcome guest came to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, but made his entrance by falling into the Emergency Ward through the ceiling.
Luckily, the raccoon was in good spirits and did not bite anyone. He was chased out of the ward and captured by the attendants and taken elsewhere.
The raccoon made his visit to the hospital at about 11:00 Friday morning. Andre Miguel told the media that he was in the ward taking care of his mother, who was sleeping, when he heard sounds coming from the ceiling.
Suddenly, an animal fell out of the ceiling and landed on a night stand and ran onto his mother’s bed, but he quickly reacted and chased it away, and it ran outside.
Miguel said that he was concerned because raccoons are vicious. The hospital said that they had found where the raccoon entered, and the area has been repaired.
