Verdes FC on top at Week 3 of FFB Top League

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Nov. 11, 2021 — Two teams remain undefeated, former PLB clubs Verdes FC and Wagiya SC, and two teams are still winless, newcomers Garden City FC and Caesar Ridge FC (whose only point came from a draw against each other), at the end of Week 3 in the Football Federation of Belize’s (FFB) Top League tournament 2021. All games, one on Saturdays and two on Sundays, are being played at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium, with no fans as yet allowed.

On Saturday, it was Wagiya, 3-1, over Caesar Ridge. Dayro Gomez netted a brace (33’ PK & 87’) and Anthony King (69’) got the other for Wagiya; while Shawn Young (76’ PK) avoided the shutout for Caesar Ridge.

In Sunday’s opener, Jardehl Muschamp (57’) scored the only goal of the match to give Altitude the 1-0 win over San Pedro Pirates. And in the nightcap, Verdes kept their perfect record with a late goal from Krisean 84’) to secure the 1-0 victory over Garden City. (See latest standings below.)
