Headline71-year-old woman robbed, kidnapped and left tied up to a tree 13 miles from home

COTTON TREE, Cayo District, Thurs. Apr. 5, 2018– Easter Monday night was absolute terror for 71-year-old Judith Classen, an American citizen who lives alone in Cotton Tree. Two bandits invaded her home, grabbed her laptop computer, tied her up, and dumped her into the trunk of her vehicle.

The bandits then drove the vehicle to Mahogany Heights, 13 miles away. When they got there, they took her out of the trunk of the vehicle, tied her to a tree, and then drove away.

The vehicle has not been recovered.

Information to us is that on Tuesday morning, two girls in Mahogany Heights saw her tied to the tree when they came out to go to work, and called police.

Classen was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment for minor injuries on her hand.

During the weekly police press brief held this morning at the Raccoon Street Police Station, Inspector Wilfred Ferufino said that they are looking for two men who are known to them.

Classen has been a resident of Cotton Tree for the past 11 years. Police believe that the motive for the invasion was to steal her vehicle.
