Belize will host UNCAF U-16 Championship

SportsBelize will host UNCAF U-16 Championship

The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) informs football fans and the general public of the Central American U-16 Championship to be held in Belize at the FFB Stadium from November 18-24. The tournament consists of all seven (7) Central American countries – Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Belize.

Camp for our U-16 is being conducted on weekends. The following players (home zones indicated) are in camp:

Orange Walk – Marlon Garcia and Randy Augustine;

San Pedro – Alexander Cadle and Brian Guardado;

Belize City – Keyon Luis;

Hattieville – Nasheb Ysaguirre;

Belmopan – Dale Pelayo, Jamal Tejeda, Jamir Alpuche, Rogi Solorzano, Elton Gordon and James Gonzalez;

Roaring Creek – Mario Valencia, Noa Moro and Eddy Valencia;

Spanish Lookout – Kelvyn Dueck;

Cayo – Trey Harris and Brandon Cante;

Benque – Sammy Sosa;

Pomona – Mark Samuels;

Dangriga – Rickie Miranda and Donell Arzu;

Placencia – Rene Leslie and Alvin Sifontes;

Punta Gorda – Jaren Lambey and Enfield Arzu.

The Technical Staff includes: Coach – Mr. Renan Couoh; Asst. Coach – Mr. Alex Noralez; Goalkeeper Coach – Mr. Kent Gabourel; Physical Trainer – Mr. Dennis Serano; Physiotherapist – Mrs. Bertha Gonzalez; Doctor – Dr. Gonzalez; Equipment Manager – Herbert Trapp, Jr.

(Ed. Note: It is also noted in the attached release in Spanish that the field at the FFB Stadium “es de grama natural.” At this sports desk, we are concerned that, since the FFB Stadium turf is made of natural grass, it will be a challenge for grounds keepers to maintain the integrity of the playing field during these seven consecutive days of three games per day. Let’s hope the weather is favorable.)
