Chinese grocer accused of pointing gun at taxi driver in PG

CrimeChinese grocer accused of pointing gun at taxi driver in PG

The taxi driver reportedly owes the grocer $170

An outstanding bill which was apparently racked up by a taxi driver in Punta Gorda Town almost led to tragedy when the creditor allegedly sought the aid of his pistol in order to salvage his debt.

Armando Muschamp, 43, a taxi driver from the Water Supply area of Punta Gorda, told police that he was in front of Charleston Inn on Main Street on Sunday, June 8, 2014, when a man whom he knows only as “Chiney Bwai”, the proprietor of a store, came up to him and demanded that he (Muschamp) pay an arrears of $170 which the taxi driver reportedly owed to him.

When Muschamp could not produce the money, the 37-year-old Chinese grocer allegedly took out his licensed black 9mm pistol and pointed it at him.

Punta Gorda police told Amandala that so far, the incident is still under investigation and that they are trying to ascertain the authenticity of the report made by Muschamp.
