The Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) tips off its CSSSA Basketball Tournament 2013-2014 tomorrow, Tuesday, at Bird’s Isle. Weekday games begin at 5:10 p.m., while on Saturday’s the games start at 10:00 a.m. Six (6) female (F) teams and nine (9) male (M) teams are participating in this year’s competition.

Female teams are: Pallotti High School (PHS), Ladyville Technical High (LTH), Gwen Lizarraga High (GLH), St. Catherine Academy (SCA), Belize High School (BHS) and Wesley College (WES).

Male teams are: WES, GLH, Nazarene High School (NHS), LTH, St. John’s College (SJC), Anglican Cathedral College (ACC), BHS, Sadie Vernon Technical (SVT) and Excelsior High School (EHS).

It’s a single round-robin regular season, with knockout semifinals scheduled for December 2-3, and the best-of-3 finals series ending on December 9, in time for the Nationals, which take place on December 13-14.

This week’s schedule:

Tuesday, October 29 – (F) PHS vs LTH; (M) WES vs GLH.

Thursday, October 31 – (F) GLH vs SCA; (M) NHS vs LTH
