DANGRIGA, Wed. Aug. 12, 2015–Pomona Valley football competition: The North Stann Creek Valley Sporting Association is inviting all captains and coaches of teams wishing to take part in this year’s football competition 2015 in Pomona, to attend a special meeting this Saturday, August 15, at the Macaroni View Hotel at 7:00 p.m. sharp. The rules and by-laws will be reviewed, and other matters will be discussed.

Premier League football: Home team Wagiya will defend their home turf in Independence, since the Carl Ramos Stadium is under renovation. Wagiya Football Club has been preparing over 8 weeks for the PLB 2015-2016 Opening Season. It’s a young, running-gunning team with almost all the young players that were playing in the last season. These young guys have already accepted the fact that Michael Ashcroft Stadium will be their home turf, but they will treat all their games as if they were road games. So, this Saturday night at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium at 7:30 p.m., home team Wagiya vs BDF. General admission is only $7.00.

Dominoes: Congrats goes out to Lebeme Domino Team, original crew, winners of the last domino marathon in Sarawee Village at Jew Gyal Spot. Lebeme, at this moment in Dangriga, is unbeatable. They have proven that they are number one in all these domino marathons in the Stann Creek District. In second place last Sunday was Recruits; third place was Wadani.

The next big domino marathon coming up will be the 2nd Harlem Street Fest Domino Marathon next week Saturday at Roxy Bar.

Cycling: Dangriga Amateur Cycling Association would like to inform all junior riders and amateur senior riders countrywide that their next race, coming up next week Saturday, August 22, will be 2nd Annual Harlem Street Fest Cycling Classic. This race next week Saturday will be for two categories – juniors and seniors. The race will start (and finish) from in front of Roxy Bar on Commerce Street and head all the way into Hopkins Village, make a U-turn in front of King Cassava, and back.

Invitation is going out to Team Chavarria, Team Police, Team Smart, and also Team Shake and Bake from Dangriga.

For information, riders can contact Moses Lopez at 625-4022, or Mr. T at 662-3310.

Stann Creek District 8-Ball: The Stann Creek District Billiards 8-Ball Tournament played their second game of a home and away series on Saturday at Steadfast Village, where the home team S.F.B. could not hold up to Big Mangoes Shattaz, and lost the game. So, Big Mangoes Shattaz now move on to the finals.
On Sunday, in the second game encounter, Valley Shooters made their way to Santa Cruz to face Scorpions, and won this one, 3 to 2. Scorpions had won the first game, 3 to 2; so a third game is needed to determine a winner. This game will be played in Mango Creek tonight, Thursday, at 7:00 p.m., to see who will face-off with Big Mangoes Shattaz in the finals.
