Foul play in sudden death of Corozal man, say police

CrimeFoul play in sudden death of Corozal man, say police

A post-mortem conducted on the body of Adrian Esquivel, 31, of Corozal Town, certified that his death was caused by acute lung failure due to acute pulmonary edema as a result of peritonitis. The autopsy was conducted at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital yesterday by Doctor Mario Estradabran, police coroner.

Police suspected foul play because an X-ray on Esquivel’s body showed that there was a crack on his skull, a crack on the collar bone, cracks also on his right upper shoulder and on his right arm, and glass particles were in his throat.

They were awaiting the autopsy result to launch a murder investigation.

Superintendent Andrew Ramirez, Commander of Corozal police, said that according to the doctor, Esquivel died of lung failure.

According to CTV 3 News, on Sunday, Adrian Esquivel was cutting his yard when he suddenly collapsed and began to vomit. He was found by his in-laws and rushed to the Corozal Hospital, where X-rays, among other tests, were performed. He died shortly after.

Esquivel was buried today in Corozal Town.
