Girl raped by stepfather

GeneralGirl raped by stepfather

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. July 23, 2015–A 16-year-old girl told police that she was raped by her stepfather in their house in Belize City.

The girl said that her mother had gone to church, and she was sleeping in her room, when her stepfather went into her room and raped her. The stepfather then left the house and has since been on the run from police.

When the girl’s mother returned home, the girl told her what had happened, and together, they went to the police and made a formal report.

Police took the girl to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for examination by a doctor, who certified that she had been carnally known.

Police have since been on the hunt for the stepfather.

The report of this rape came less than 24 hours after a 38-year-old Guatemalan man of Punta Gorda was arraigned at the Punta Gorda Magistrate’s Court and then remanded to the Belize Central Prison on charges of unlawful carnal knowledge after it was reported that he had raped his 13-year-old stepdaughter on many occasions, starting in November 2014.

The girl was examined at the Punta Gorda Town Hospital, where a doctor certified that not only had she been carnally known, but that she was 6 months pregnant.
