…Rambling thoughts…

…If you owned a bank, significant number of shares in the major industries of a country; if you controlled a propaganda organ, and had influential clout in the communications industry, not to mention interests In hotels, and if you have been given all this tax free for 40 years, then the next logical thing to do with all this “boondoggle and pork” is to establish a stock exchange…

…the U.S. Congress is now in the process of amending its constitution to have a balanced budget. Heretofore and since its inception (thanks to Alexander Hamilton) the U.S. was constitutionally mandated to have a budget deficit. Now if the richest country in the world, the only one that is simultaneously a creditor and debtor nation, has lived like this for 200 years, why should Belize worry about a $42.7 million shortfall and be panicked by the I.M.F., unless it is part of their agenda to pay off the debts of the “North” with our natural resources… what is the price, I.M.F., of the largest living reef in the world?

“North”>>>North-South dialogue.

…It has been said that the U.S. is rich because of her political system: “Every man is created equal and born with the inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”; every man is a king and every woman a queen, where skill and talent have replaced the O.B.E., M.B.E., K.C.M.G…

…it never fails to amaze that with the amount of “degree: people in Belizean public life that the language of debate about anything national always ends up in “peon” mud-slinging. One would expect that the quality of debate would reflect the university training. Their professors should be ashamed and embarrassed. It is a cop out for creative thought and action, an irrelevant diversion from the ability to create jobs to better the life of the people…

…Mundo Maya…the Mayan Plate… the Confederation of Central American states…the restoration of the Vice-Royalty of Guatemala…

…Donations and gifts are constantly being given weekly to this and that by business organizations that enjoy lucrative concessions, bordering on monopoly. It is good p.r. for the company and cheap advertisement. It is also the people’s money being given back to them – a cent on the dollar! Since the “free market” ideologues are constantly harping on the benefits of same, wouldn’t it be a good idea for them to demand that all concessions be abrogated and that these companies made to compete in a truly free and competitive atmosphere? The taxes generated will far exceed these “donations”…

…the industrial North’s brainwashing on environmental issues would be more credible if they were to practice at home what they demand of the Third World. As a starter, limit the American and European family to one car only; follow this with the closure of the industrial and manufacturing plants that spout hydrofluorocarbons into the atmosphere, which, as their scientists tell us, deplete the ozone layer. In relation to this, how come if the depletion is thus caused, the largest and widest hole is found over Antartica where there are no such companies and which they have recently agreed to preserve in its pristine state? Would the “atmosphericists” please explain?

…At the risk of sounding “scary”, why not expand the Western Road into a superhighway into the Peten province and bring their goods through our port, having extended this to Stake Bank, and ditto for the Northern Road into Quintana Roo. Belize can use the revenues that this will generate. Run the pipelines north and south though…

…is God an idea of man’s mind? Then we have Jews and Muslims (Palestine), Christians and Muslims (Bosnia), Christians and Christians (Northern Ireland), killing each other in the name of Yaweh, God, Allah… Or is God a transcendental experience? Then we will have caring and sharing, love and peace, the pursuit of ourselves in ourselves and neighbor to meet ultimately in the light of our Godhead…

…Rambling thoughts and thoughts…Peace…Shalom…As-salaam-alaikum
