BELIZE CITY, Mon. July 23, 2018– The Premier League of Belize (PLB) 2018-2019 Opening Season kicked off with one Week-1 game only yesterday afternoon at the MCC Grounds in Belize City, where defending champions, Belmopan Bandits SC were held to a scoreless draw by home standing Belize Defence Force FC.

There are still the same 8 clubs participating in the PLB Opening Season, but the unusual one-game start of the new season is to accommodate the mid-week CONCACAF League match next Tuesday, when the Bandits will be travelling to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to face FC Motagua. This will allow Belmopan Bandits to rest this coming weekend, while the other six clubs will be active in the other three Week-1 games.

Saturday, July 28, PLB Week 1
7:30 p.m. – Placencia Assassins FC vs Freedom Fighters FC – M.A. Stadium
7:30 p.m. – San Pedro Pirates FC vs Police United FC – Ambergris Stadium
Sunday, July 29, PLB Week 1
4:00 p.m. – Verdes FC vs Wagiya FC – Santa Elena Sporting Complex
