SAN IGNACIO TOWN, Mon. Dec. 12, 2016–On Saturday night, two-time NEBL champions, San Pedro Tiger Sharks traveled to Sugar City to take on the Orange Walk Running Rebels in the first ever NEBL pre-season game. San Pedro Tiger Sharks came out with the 61-53 victory. The Tiger Sharks was led by Ashton Edwards, who had the game high with 15 pts, while Kurt “Chengo” Burgess netted 13 pts, Dar Harris sank 10 pts, Jamal Kelly scored 8 pts, and Douglas Valley finished the night with 7 pts. Randy Usher was the top scorer for Orange Walk Running Rebels with 13 pts, while Roger Reneau tallied 11 pts, and Elvis Olivera finished with 6 pts.
The NEBL season tips off on January 13 in Belize City, as defending champions, Belize Hurricanes will host the opening game.
