30 million dollars? Chump change to Ashcroft

Features30 million dollars? Chump change to Ashcroft

We were told that we should be unconcerned about devaluation because our foreign money position was strong, but that 30 million US dollar Treasury Note has to make us suspicious. Hmm, if it is really so that we have to shore up our foreign exchange position, then we have to do what we have to do, but we have to ask why we took the expensive route when we have Lord Ashcroft right here, right now. No less than the present PM, Mr. Dean Barrow, told us that that gentleman had the milk of the Good Samaritan flowing through his veins, and the proof of that is that he saved our exposed butts by buying BTL from an American philistine who couldn’t meet his IOU.

His few detractors shouldn’t downplay that Ashcroft weathered the first wave of COVID-19 right here in Belize, out there on his ship, and after Dr. Manza gave the all-clear, he ventured ashore and immediately started making the rounds to learn about the conditions of our people. When I saw the photos of the Good Samaritan, I have to say I was so happy, but there was a twinge of nostalgia. Ah, missing from the photo ops was the adoring Finnegan, and wouldn’t it have been amazing to see those two loving brothers going around the country together, as they did on the shaky London bridges in south-side Belize City some moons ago.

There is no doubt that that Ashcroft has the money to save us. We know he is stacked, and that’s not just from looking at his clothes. We know that some rich man like to dress poa, and all poa man like to dress like dehn rich, thanks to Lord Rhaburn, who sang about it. Ah, how I got the hair off the horse tail that the man is loaded with the spank? Well, that goes back to what happened in a fully legal transaction in a secret room in Miami. Talking strictly about cash, when our representative went into that secret room, we had the money, and when our representative left the room, Ashcroft had it. But the UDP secured another victory at the polls. Hurrah!

My, I do sometimes see why there are people who bite up about the Good Samaritan Ashcroft narrative. I say, if you look through their lens, that British bohga has been fleecing, getting the better of us, in every business deal, and if we stay with the detractors and sniff the air, you do get a little whiff about this one that he might be the architect. The number 30 rings too much like something from the pillow talk and the waterloo series. If so, he will be the one to snap it up, proving once more his dominance over the little natives. Bah, a man with class is magnanimous when he has his little opponents over a barrel, but tu often hihn luk like hihn da noh dattideh kind.

Smaata people than me might be smelling a different weed. Ms. Sandra noh happy about the reach for the 30 million, says the cost is way out there high, and the PUP brothers at the Vibes said it is a scheme to make money for UDPeez who have riches stored up in earth heaven – that’s US cash in the banks out there, colegas.

It really could be that the deal is earmarked for Belizeans with money abroad, those with the US loot, and I have to agree that they should be rushing to save Belize, not plunder us. But, people who are in the savings business have never suffered from bouts of altruism. Ooh, the interest rates are yummy. In the days of COVID-19, everything lean, but that usury thing is raking it in more than ever.

Hip Hop is a white racist’s game

One of my friends shared the perspective of an ex-policeman in the US about the protests in the streets over there in response to the most recent case of white police brutalizing black men. The ex-police officer is black, and he doesn’t share the perspective being played out across the globe, that there is something good about the protests.

The ex-cop said it was a shame what some “protesters” did to the businesses of hardworking black and white entrepreneurs, and I don’t disagree with him there; he said when a brother kills a brother the protesters don’t care, and that’s not an empty point. The ex-cop said most black people don’t have negative interactions with police, and that with over 44 million black people in America there were only 9 people who had interactions that led to their death last year.

The ex-cop went on to discuss whites and white privilege, and how the real truth is that Blacks in America oppress themselves through cultural dynamics, and their refusal to identify their faults. He said the system in America will make you rich if you do the right thing, and he pointed to the hugely successful black people, which I think would be about 9 in 44 million. From the moment he started discussing white privilege he was in deep water, but on the culture thing, and identifying faults, well I’d go to bat for him.

I say, brother we are on page there. It’s an American story, but this one spills over into Belize, so I will take my turn at the plate.

The black situation has been between bad and terrible for several centuries, and when the music form called Hip Hop came along, it made things worse. Hip Hop did produce positive lyrics, along with the great beat — along with making a few black people rich.

I said, Hip Hop has its share of wonderful songs, but they created too many songs that are destructive. If I was a rich white racist I would definitely have invested big money in promoting it. Far, far too many of the genre’s biggest stars are filth merchants.

Music is a teaching tool. Kids will sing the songs they hear. Children aren’t born as sober, civilized people; they are born as little animals. They gravitate toward base behaviors. They are drawn to bad expressions, like a moth is drawn to a flame.

When I was a boy I caricatured a governor’s name and my grampa kept his sash cord soaked a whole night, and he belted me when he caught me in the morning. Little boys in the USA should have been singing, “Say it loud, I’m black and proud”, but instead Hip Hop had them singing lyrics that degrade women in the worst ways; taught them to cuss —who teaches children to talk foul?—and Hip Hop taught the youth to sing songs with lyrics like “Kill the pig policeman, kill the m… pig.”

Once upon a time Black America had great leaders named Marcus, Malcolm, Elijah, and MLK, but they have been replaced by bling-bling music stars and sports icons. Those music and sports people spent their lives honing their artistic gifts; they didn’t spend a lifetime studying the roots truths and how to lead their people through the storm. Of course, these stars have value to the cause, but their voices should be secondary. Of course, those who have invested their winnings with their people deserve to be saluted.

Bah, talk about the terrible lyrics and they will start telling you about the unfair drug laws, and how the US government introduced crack cocaine to inner city youth. Bah, don’t change the subject. The filthy songs poisoned the minds of the children.

A lot of COVID-19 racism

Belize has recorded two deaths from COVID-19. Black men. The COVID-19 horror stories that involved Belizeans in New York, the ones I heard of, were about black men. Well, the persons in Belize most likely to be about without a face mask, based on my observation, are black men. When I go out I see our Mayan brothers and sisters with their masks on, I see our Mestizo brothers and sisters with their masks on, I see most everyone with their masks on. When you see someone with their masks off — I told you what my observation is.
