On Friday morning, police took a 17-year-old to the Belize Magistrate’s Court, where he was charged with murder in the shooting death of Jomo Lamb, 15, who had been shot the previous night sometime after 8:00.
He was not offered bail and was remanded to the Hattieville Prison until his next prison date.
Jomo Lamb, 15, a youth who was to begin a program at Youth For the Future, was shot three times in the back and twice in the stomach.
That night Jomo had told his sister that someone was chasing him, but did not say who it was. Shortly after, they received the news that he had been fatally shot.
A post-mortem is scheduled to be conducted on Jomo tomorrow at 7:00 in the morning. He leaves behind his mother, Semona Bacab; his other brother and four sisters; aunts; uncles and a host of other family relatives and friends to mourn his death.
