No one appears to know who killed car dealer Stanley Moguel, 18, of #8133 Balan Street in the Lake Independence area this weekend.
Police were called out to the Haulover Bridge around 6:00 a.m. Sunday, September 7, where they found Moguel’s lifeless body stretched out a hundred yards from the bridge on the left side, face down. At the time of his death, Moguel was wearing a white T-shirt, long jeans pants, blue and white-checkered boxers, and white and brown Nike tennis shoes.
Police observed what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds, five in all, to the upper and lower back, and to the right of the chest near the armpit.
Moguel’s family says he had no known enemies and was not a troublemaker, so why he was murdered is a mystery to them. Neither of his parents – who declined to be identified – was able to shed any light to Amandala as to why anyone would want Moguel dead. Police have not indicated whether they think there is a link between Saturday’s attempted carnage during the Carnival Road March and Moguel’s death. His father told us the last time he saw his son was while they were watching the parade.
Moguel, those who know him told us, was a quiet boy, and they were shocked to learn that he had been murdered so ruthlessly.
A post-mortem conducted today at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital certified the cause of death as coming from the gunshot wounds that were all over Stanley’s body. Funeral services are planned for later this week.
