With their starting line-up sporting a league high four foreign players, the San Pedro Tigersharks are steadily climbing their way back up the league standings, and, following Friday night’s 101-73 trouncing of Creative Graphics Impressions, now find themselves just 1 ½ games behind the league leading Belmopan Bandits. Local sensation Lester Cadle recorded the season’s first triple-double, as he totaled 13 pts 11 rebs 10 asst. He was aided by foreign imports Gene Myvett, who had a game high 28 pts to go along with 9 rebs and 7 asst, followed by Ivan Jackson 22 pts 3 asst, Damion Staples 15 pts 11 rebs 6 blocks and Stretch Marcellus 13 pts 7 rebs. The Tigersharks dominated all four quarters of play, as they shot an impressive 48% from the field on 41 of 86 shooting, were out-rebounded 52-46, however made up in ball distribution, as they totaled 25 asst to their opponents’ 3. CGI, who have now dropped two in a row after starting 3-0, were led by Andre Almendarez 24 pts 16 rebs, Harris Patten 13 pts 8 rebs and Winston Augustin 12 pts 10 rebs.
  
In U-19 action, Lake I Boys won in convincing fashion over NHI by the final score of 78-41. Alberto Cuellar and Hakeem Hassan had 14 pts each for Lake I Boys, while Luis Young led NHI with 13 pts 9 rebs, followed by Dennis Brown 10 pts 3 rebs.
 
 
BECOL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
 
Scores from games played over the weekend in the 2010 BECOL Basketball Championship had Hydro Power over-powering the Ballers from Cayo in U-21 action by the final score of 66-23. Vandell Fuller totaled 21 pts 14 rebs, followed by Regis “Brains” Morris 12 pts 4 rebs and Johan “Coto” Bermudez 10 pts 6 rebs 4 asst. Meanwhile, for Cayo Ballers it was Alfonso “Fonso” Tesecum leading the way with 10 pts 3 rebs. Flames had their way with Real Fundaz by the final score of 43-23, behind Elvis “Zui” Usher 11 pts 5 rebs and Jamir Flores 9 pts 8 rebs 4 asst. For Real Fundaz it was Zamir “Gramax” Usher totaling 10 pts 3 steals, followed by Sadani Harrison 9 pts 6 rebs.
  
In Over-35 play, Hydro Power edged Buca Belmopan by the final score of 41-38. Joe Awe scored 12 pts in the win, followed by Desmond Berry 9 pts 9 rebs and Neil Simmons 9 pts 4 rebs. Meanwhile, for Buca Belmopan it was Clifford King scoring a game high 20 pts, followed by Robert Allen 8 pts. In the other Over-35 game played over the weekend, UNDP Panthers sent Eclipse to their fourth straight loss in as many outings, winning by the score of 70-33, behind Joe Clark 20 pts 9 rebs, Hugh O’ Brien 16 pts 10 rebs and Evan Reynolds 16 pts 5 rebs.
  
n the two senior games played over the weekend, it was Warriors knocking off the Invaders 72-57, behind Jermaine “Bull” Pandy 16 pts and Cecil Gordon 14 pts 10 rebs; while for the Invaders it was Alfred Bainton with 26 pts 12 rebs, followed by Tyron Anthony 12 pts 5 rebs. E3/Belize Bank Stars got the better of Christ for Life by the final score of 66-57. E3 was led by Kurt “Chengo” Burgess 22 pts 7 rebs and Marcel Orosco 12 pts 2 rebs, while Christ for Life scoring was led by Brett Smith 16 pts 3 rebs and Jamie Gillett 15 pts 5 rebs.
