Brandon Gibson, 22, murdered on Black Orchid Street

GeneralBrandon Gibson, 22, murdered on Black Orchid Street
Yesterday at around 9:30 p.m., Brandon Gibson, 22, a resident of Moya Street, was murdered while walking on Black Orchid Street. Residents say that they heard three shots, and police say that he was shot once in the back.

Police say that Gibson was riding on a bicycle heading toward the Mahogany Street and Black Orchid Street extension. Amandala understands from the residents that they heard a single gunshot and a few moments later, they heard two heavier shots. Gibson was found in a drain, with his bicycle in the middle of the street. His body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after the authorities processed the scene. He now awaits a post-mortem.

We spoke to one of his family members, who told us that he doesn’t really know anything about what actually took place, other than what the police have told him. He said that he practically helped to raise Gibson from his early teens.

He told us that he knows Gibson to be a reasonable young man who was trying to keep busy with positive things. He said that Gibson was working at the Princess Hotel, where he was very recently terminated. However, he was seeking employment at the Biltmore Hotel, where he was to start work on Monday.

The family member told us that while they are mourning his loss, they have no means to bury him, and they are asking for assistance from any member of the public. They are asking for financial help to provide Gibson with a decent wake and funeral sometime soon.

Any member of the public wishing to help can contact the family at telephone number 627-9465.
