Peter Flowers, 26, executed at corner of Caesar Ridge Road and Gill Street

GeneralPeter Flowers, 26, executed at corner of Caesar Ridge Road and Gill Street
Peter Flowers, 26, a resident of Caesar Ridge Road, was shot and killed at the corner of Caesar Ridge Road and Gill Street.

The shooting took place on Saturday, April 21, at about 3:40 in the afternoon.

According to police, they responded to a report of a shooting, and when they arrived on the scene, they saw the motionless body of Flowers lying in a pool of his own blood, dead.

Flowers, a stevedore, suffered 3 shots to the abdomen, 3 shots to the right hand, 3 shots to the center of his chest, 1 shot to his right arm, 5 shots to his head, 2 shots to his back, 2 shots to his neck, 1 shot to his right leg and 1 shot to his left leg – a total of 21 shots.

Initial police investigations have revealed that Flowers was walking on Caesar Ridge Road when a black Toyota Camry drove up from behind him and the occupants started firing shots at him, causing the fatal injuries.

His body was transported to the morgue at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where it awaits a post-mortem.

But why was Flowers killed? Was he a troublemaker, someone with an old “beef”, or someone with a bounty on his head?

Or was he just a casualty of the bloody weekend massacre, an innocent bystander caught in the crossfire, someone venturing into dangerous territory, or just simply someone going to work?

Amandala tried getting the answers to these questions today, but people were too afraid to say anything that might put them or their family in jeopardy.

Amandala also was not successful in getting an interview with the family.

Police continue their investigations into this shooting, but have not detained anyone as yet.
