Resident of Buttercup shot again, second time in one year

CrimeResident of Buttercup shot again, second time in one year

A resident of Butter Cup Village of the Burrell Boom area is recovering at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital from gunshot wounds to the left side of the chest and the right side of the abdomen. His condition has been listed as critical but stable.

At about 11:35 Saturday night, Adrian Myvette, 28, was riding on his bicycle on the Burrell Boom Road towards his home in Buttercup when a gunman riding a motorcycle rode up behind him and fired about 8 shots at him, hitting him multiple times.

The man then drove away. Myvette was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital by people of the area who were alerted by the murderous gunshots.

Police said that on their arrival at the entrance to the horse race track and Burrell Boom Road, they saw a bicycle on the road and found 8 expended 9mm shells. So far the shooter has not been found, and the reason for the attack is not yet known.

This is the second time that Myvette has been shot within a year. In January last year, 2013, he was shot in the leg by police during a struggle with police officers who were arresting him for drug possession.

Police said that during the struggle with him to take him into custody, the gun went off and hit Myvette in the leg.
