Accused murderer Amin Cho captured after 3 years on the run

GeneralAccused murderer Amin Cho captured after 3 years on the run

GUINEA GRASS, Orange Walk District, Tues. May 5, 2020– Amin Cho, 29, a laborer of Guinea Grass who was wanted for the murder of shop owner Pedro Pol, 90, of August Pine Ridge, in June 2017, was reeled in yesterday after being on the run for almost three years.
Cho was found hiding in the village. He was arrested and charged with murder, but has not yet been arraigned.

ACP Joseph Myvett of the Police Department said that they have been conducting frequent operations in the village and surrounding areas to find him, but because they could not find him, they concluded that he may have fled the country. He was captured on his return to the village.

Police said that at about 2:00 on the afternoon of June 15. 2017, Pedro Pol was in his shop in August Pine Ridge when two men entered the store and held him up with a machete. He was then tied up and the men robbed him and stole $50, after which one of the men chopped him in the head, chest and back, and they then escaped, leaving Pol to die.

Shortly after, a customer went to the shop to make some purchases and  saw Pol lying on the floor, bleeding profusely, and immediately called Terencio Pol, 59, his son, who quickly transported his father to the hospital,  but he was declared dead on arrival.

An investigation into the senseless murder led to a minor in the village who was arraigned at the Family Court, and the search for the second suspected killer — Amin Cho— was launched. A wanted poster was then issued for his arrest.
