SAN ROMAN, Stann Creek District, Sun. June 20, 2020– A newborn baby who was discarded in some bushes in San Roman was eaten by dogs.
A man who came across the gruesome scene at about 10:00 yesterday morning managed to chase away the animals and rescued what was left of the infant —the legs and a hand. He immediately called police, and the body parts of the infant were rushed to the National Forensic Sciences Services for investigation, and they determined that the remains belonged to a female child.
It is not yet certain whether the infant had been dead prior to being abandoned.
Police are trying to find the mother as they proceed with their investigation.
