BELIZE CITY, Wed. Nov. 25, 2020– A 16-year-old minor has been charged for the murder of 57-year-old Sean Menzies, a longtime sales representative at Bowen and Bowen Ltd.
On Saturday, November 21, Jeffery Contreras, 22, a labourer of #18 Iguana Street, was arrested and charged with abetment to commit murder in the shooting death of Menzies.
Today the Commissioner of Police announced that Contreras’ charge had been upgraded to murder.
Menzies was gunned down in front of his Lancaster Street home in Belize City on the night of Wednesday, November 18.
Due to the Convention on the Rights of a Child, the minor’s name was not released to the media.
