Fire on Jane Usher Boulevard

GeneralFire on Jane Usher Boulevard

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Apr. 26, 2021– A house in the Jane Usher Boulevard area burst into flames on Monday, April 26, sometime around 2:20 p.m.

According to reports, the police responded to a call that led them to a burning, unpainted bungalow plycem house with zinc roofing. Although the fire was later extinguished by the Fire Department, the house and all of its contents were already destroyed.

A key witness of the incident, 63-year-old Pastoria Galvez, said that she saw smoke originating from the house of Anthony Flores. According to Galvez, she had last seen Flores about 2 weeks prior to the incident — before he had departed to Dangriga Town.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The Fire Department is yet to determine the cause of the fire, and the Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
