A woman of Honduran nationality is facing charges of Abetment to Murder in connection with the death of Wilmer Ordonez, 25, who was reportedly murdered in June of this year in Camalote Village, Cayo District.
Before Ordonez was fatally shot, he had gotten into a domestic dispute with his partner, Maria Guevara, 25, of Armenia Village, at their farm. Guevara left the farm and later on, around 9:30 p.m., she returned on a motorcycle with a male person identified as Jose Reyes.
Ordonez and Reyes began to argue, and Reyes assaulted Ordonez with a shotgun which he had brought to the scene, causing him to fall to the ground. Guevara then climbed on top of Ordonez and proceeded to stab him with a knife.
A male friend of Ordonez and Ordonez’s sister, Luzbin Ordonez, 24, attempted to intervene in the squabble; however, while they were intervening Reyes fired two fatal shots in the direction of Wilmer Ordonez’s face. Reyes then turned the weapon in another direction and fired two more shots, hitting Guevara in the stomach and Luzbin Ordonez in the shoulder.
Wilmer Ordonez died at the scene, while both women were transported to the Western Regional Hospital for treatment.
Authorities announced on Tuesday, August 15, that Guevara has been charged with Abetment to Murder. Meanwhile, Reyes is still at large, and efforts are being made to locate him.
