Belize treasures your culture, not your race

FeaturesBelize treasures your culture, not your race

by Colin Hyde

People who prize their little racial things need to get the sense that Belize doesn’t encourage racial purity. We give the prize to culture, the parts that are healthy. Diluting the race is a good thing, but we accept not too quickly, because the culture could be lost.

Get away with all ideas of race preservation if you live here. That is not the way of the Jewel. Belize wants to live, not by the color of the skin or the race, but by the content of people’s character. Eventually, individuals from all entering tribes should become part of the whole. Ah, the culture, we want that preserved, and to be incorporated. The Jewel will take the tamales, hudut, tacari, rice & beans, black dinner, sweet & sour, Kriol bread, and weh Rhaburn seh, the lobster tail. Gih wi punta, brokdong, marimba, gih wi Belize old-time band.

We don’t want any race things. Get it, that we prefer mix up; that is the Belize way.

Mix up, mix up

I’m a Kriol, my main roots being some African tribes and British tribes. Over time, the genes of many different people have joined my bloodstream, mainly the Maya from original America. I have no hesitation when I’m asked what tribe I belong to. Me da Kriol.

There are many roots Belizeans who aren’t clear when responding for the census. Is a Mestizo with strong Kriol lineage a Mestizo? Is a Garifuna with strong Mayan lineage a Garifuna? I think there should be categories on the census form for Mestizo/Kriol, Garifuna/Maya, East Indian/Kriol, and so forth. That is the correct way to categorize Belizeans by race.

Present leaders of the Jews are no saints

It pains me that there are Belizeans who are pleased with what the Jews under Netanyahu are doing to the Palestinians. Netanyahu and the Jews have been guilty many times of serious, even murderous excesses.

Throughout the Old Testament we see the Jews under different leadership guilty of grave human error many times. Defenders of the Jews of old accept that they erred at times, and say that whenever they erred, God came along and punished them. Incredibly, those same defenders justify EVERYTHING the modern Jews do.

Acts 12:1-4 in the Bible Gateway (King James Version) says: Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church; And he killed James the brother of John with the sword; And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.); And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

Understandably, the Jews were greatly concerned about the Jesus Christians and their story about The Christ’s resurrection from the dead. The math for the Jewish leaders was very simple there. If people believed that The Christ rose from the dead, then their religion was over.

Human beings are perpetually in battle; we are beings that can never be satisfied. It is a truth of human beings that if a person is solitary in a cave, he will find something to quarrel with himself about. If two people are in a cave, neither will sleep. That’s why civilization had to emerge. Without civilization, human beings are the worst behaving animals on the planet.

Civilization has some rules written in bold, and the most notable one is that one should not kill innocent people. The Jews had a quarrel with the Christians, and the Bible says it “pleased” them when the Apostle James was murdered. You know, we over here have been fed a line that those Muslims are a violent set. And there is evidence that a lot of Muslims are not Ahmadiyya. Well, all the evidence says there are very murderous Jews too.

We know the arguments of their defenders. One is that you have to fight fire with fire. Another is that the Jews have every right to not act like Quakers, because if they did the murderous Muslims would overrun them.

In isolation, those aren’t bad arguments. Most peaceful people will get weapons and defend themselves when they are threatened. Our Mennonite group which came here looking for peace is now armed and dangerous to defend their peace. We know the times. Violent people have gone into Mennonite communities and done horrible things. We also know that some Mennonites have followed the massive money in the drug trade, thus they are guilty of bringing violence to their communities. The illegal drug trade is a dangerous business.

We absolutely can’t ignore the world report that the Jews are not about promoting peace. At the base of the story, we have the mighty British and Americans effectively evicting several hundred thousand Palestinians and carving out a state for the Jews, Israel in 1948. Even sheep will try to get back into a pasture they are used to grazing. There was injury, and wherever there is injury there will be bad feelings.

So, we have here a situation that is volatile. In 1967, the Palestinians and friends fought back; the Jews, backed by the British and Americans, defended and defeated the Palestinians, and the Jews took more of the Palestinians’ land. So now, there is more cause for volatility. The world understands that volatility, and it supports the Jews in fighting off Palestinians with bad feelings. But the world also supports, insists, has supported and insisted for decades, that the artificially created Israel give back the land it took in the war.

The world does not support the present Jewish leadership. They have done too many terrible, ugly things just so they can have their way.

These excerpts from a story by Jonathan D. Strum, “The symbiotic relationship between Netanyahu and Hamas”, published in The Hill, at the website thehill.com, exposes the devilish schemes of the present Jewish leadership. Strum says: “Netanyahu’s stated policy has always been in opposition to a two-state solution to the conflict…Netanyahu castigated the Palestinian Authority (PA), sought to reduce foreign aid to the PA…Netanyahu’s motivations were essentially three-fold: First, opposition to the PA made for great domestic political rhetoric; second, a weakened PA would ensure unrest and terror, thus bolstering his conservative brand of politics; and third, a weakened PA, coupled with Hamas in Gaza, enabled Netanyahu to effectively ignore Palestinian issues rather than deal with them…

“…The Israeli security apparatus often wanted to go after the leadership of Hamas in a concerted way…They were kept from doing so by Netanyahu — because he needed Hamas as his foil against the PA…With Hamas in power in Gaza, coupled with a deliberately emaciated PA in the West Bank, Netanyahu could claim there was no Palestinian partner for negotiation, and he could continue to crisscross the West Bank with settlements.”

If you aren’t consumed with playing obtuse, here you see why this present disaster is much the making of present Jewish leadership. It’s not a complicated question for Christians. All we have to ask ourselves is if Jesus would support what Jewish leader Netanyahu has done and is doing. If you believe that He would, then we don’t know the same Jesus.

I believe that Jews in Belize are not supportive of present Jewish leadership. But some of Belize’s Christians do, and they need to get off with this blank pass for those Jewish extremists. Christians are of Christ.

Ah, and what were those Jews that Jesus warned about their fraud, what were they hoping would be done to Peter? Based on all the stories in the Old Testament, and what the Apostle Paul said in that Acts piece, with the Jews supporting Herod, our brother, Peter the Apostle, he was in “for nothing nice.” Fortunately, Herod did not get to deal with him, to please them.
