BELIZE CITY, Mon. Oct. 30, 2023

So says Yabra Football Club coordinator Jerome “Pealoff” Meheia who believes their youth programme is the future of Belize football. “We’re undefeated so far,” says Pealoff. “We’ve won every tournament we entered.” After hosting and winning their own Yabra U-10 tournament earlier this year, Pealoff said they had an exchange encounter with the Chuc U-10 team out of San Ignacio, whom they defeated handily in home and away games. “We visited Ladyville and it was the same thing with Sundance’s (coach Daniel Smith) team.”

Pealoff says they are searching for new challenges for their Yabra U-10, who just yesterday prevailed over three other Belize City U-10 squads in an exhibition preliminary tournament before the Social Security Over-40 Health & Wellness championship game at Berger Field.

The Yabra U-10 kids are looking forward to a trip north sometime soon to test themselves against the Mundialito champs of Orange Walk.
