A Story of Miguel’s Life (Part 4)

FeaturesA Story of Miguel’s Life (Part 4)

Miguel was devastated, heartbroken, but reflective of the mistake he made. When Miguel got home, he went directly to his bedroom and locked himself in. He had been holding in the urge to burse into tears during the journey home in the taxi. Once inside his room, he began bitterly crying, releasing all his emotions of regret and heartache. He felt his world shattered into a million pieces which couldn’t be put together again, or so he thought. He had cried like he never did before. His cry wasn’t one of a spoiled child, no. He cried as if he had lost a part of his soul. He fought to catch his breath, his chest felt constricted as if a heavy brick was placed there to crush his rib cage, he couldn’t take it that he had lost the love of his life. The more he thought about it the more he felt the emptiness and loneliness setting in. He did not know that he had been set up. He did not realize the game at play for he was of a young age and inexperienced, so he did not understand what had happened.

The next day, when he went to college, his classmates had realized that he was very sad because he wasn’t that cheerful person he always was; that person didn’t exist anymore. As the days passed, his classmates kept asking him what was wrong, however, he didn’t answer. In order to avoid the questions, Miguel would either hide and wait for them to leave the campus or he would hurriedly run out without being noticed. One day, his classmates caught up to him and asked him, “Hey Miguel, what happened to the lady that use to pick you up everyday?”

“She was only visiting,” he replied, “The woman was my Aunt from another city and was on vacation. She returned home.” He tried to evade all the questions from his classmates. Miguel continued his routine of going to the beach to watch the view of the setting sun. However, as he went, all the wonderful memories he made with Susan came flashing back in his mind along with the hurt and heartbreak. Fortunately, he had the advantage of forgiving, forgetting, accepting what was left of him without his first love and moving on. At his age, it was a skill. Not long after, while Miguel was at the beach lost in his thoughts, he was approached by a breath-taking woman which took him by surprise. It so happens that there existed a club of young, beautiful single women that liked little boys of which Susan was a member. She had mentioned to one of her friends named Yanet that she had recently broken up with a boy named Miguel, “I recommend him to you, Yanet.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

“There won’t be a problem?”

“No. Him and I are done.”

“And how can I find him?”

“Every evening, around 4, he goes to the beach called Duquesa. He usually goes to see the sunset. He will have on his school uniform consisting of a white shirt with navy blue pants and black shiny shoes. He has dark brown wavy hair with a distinguished mole on the right cheek.”

So, taking Susan’s recommendations, Yanet went to the beach and waited to see the person with the aforementioned features and true to Susan’s words he appeared. She took the initiative and approached him taking him by surprise, “Hello, How are you?” She asked.

“Fine, thanks.”

“What’s your name?”

“Miguel and you?”

“Yanet.”

“Nice to meet you, Yanet.”

“Why do you come here? To enjoy the beach?”

There began a conversation, of which Yanet already had all this information. While they spoke, they walked. She did the same thing that Susan had done. They went to a restaurant to eat while enjoying the sunset. After hanging out, she offered to take him home which he accepted. One day, Yanet had invited Miguel to the cinema to watch a movie. He accepted and went. She paid the ticket, bought some popcorn and a few things to eat and drink while they enjoyed the movie which was about a couple who met and fell in love. Yanet was trying to find a way for Miguel to notice her. Obviously, she hadn’t realized that he already had his interested eyes on her, his pleading loving eyes. That was a weakness that Miguel had, he would always fall in love too easily. After watching the movie, they went out, and she asked him,

“Do you want me to give you a ride home?”

“Yes please.”

They got in the car, she started the engine and drove off. In that she asked him, “Where do I take you?”

He gave her the same address as always. They arrived, said their goodbyes, he headed home, and she left. They stayed like that for a week until she told him, “Miguel? Do you want to know where I live?”

“Sure. I’d like to.”

Miguel remembered the past when he had gone to Susan’s house, everything came to mind. On the drive to Yanet’s house, he thought that it was going to be a replay of the time with his first love. He imagined the same scenery and scenario. They arrived at Yanet’s condominium. They took the elevator, went up to the 8th floor, opened the door and entered. Upon entering Miguel was taken aback with such a beautiful place. Nevertheless, his eyes were fixed on one thing, a glass wall straight ahead of them which showed the view of the city. He was dumbfounded. His mouth was opened in awe. He told her,

“You have a beautiful view.”

“You like it?”

“Yes. It’s very pretty. Does the whole house have a view of the city?”

“No. In the other room you have the view of the mountains.”

“Interesting. May I see?”

She led him to a room on the far side of the house. She opened the door and they entered. Miguel was unaware that the other room she spoke of was her bedroom. She opened the tall curtains and revealed the glass wall. Miguel gasped when he saw the huge green mountains that seemed to touch the sky. He stood there rooted to the floor as he saw the clouds caressing the mountain top. In that, Yanet stood millimeters away from Miguel. She took the initiative and faced him, placing one hand over his chest. He quickly inhaled when he felt the heat of her palm on his chest. He could not resist her beauty anymore. He placed his arm around her waist and she put her free arm around his shoulder. They stayed like that for a while, embracing each other until she pressed her burning hot lips on his into a kiss. Miguel eagerly gave in to the kiss and complied with her every desire. As the kiss deepened the heat increased until they ended up intertwined on the bed.
