BELIZE CITY, Mon. Oct. 26, 2020– Of the 28 prisoners who escaped from the Belize Central Prison on October 12, five escapees remain on the run.

The manhunt for the convicts continues, and the Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, believes that all the escapees are within Belize’s borders.

On Thursday, October 22, Kendal Flores was recaptured, and Elser Oseguera, a convicted robber, was recaptured on Saturday, October 24.

Of the five men on the run, two — Michael Faux and Jaroud Lamb— are convicted murderers; the others are Enrique Martinez, Erwin Lanza, and Carlos Montejo, who is one of the masterminds of the breakout.

“We continue our manhunt for the others and we are optimistic that with the help of the public, we are going to find them very soon,” said Commissioner Williams.
