Their advertisements became more focused on the items they were selling. Oh yes, women do buy hardware items but they are not the prime targets for advertisements. The ads now are very eye-catching and to the point ? they are selling hammers and saws, paint and nails, etc., not women. Of course, the fact that the ads are now in colour does help to make them stand out but, even before this, they had become much better designed and appropriate to the situation.

So, where I once castigated them, I now congratulate them on their forward-looking changes and wish them all success.
