BzeBank Bulldog’s Strodni Cassasola hit a homer vs Digi

The Belize Bank Bulldogs enjoyed 2 back-to-back wins, and the Atlantic Bank/Customs enjoyed their first in the 2025 Belize City Interoffice Softball Competition which continued with 5 games at the Rogers Stadium in Belize City over the weekend, March 21-23.
In Game 1 on Friday evening, the Bulldogs walloped Digi, 16-2, by mercy rule in 5 innings. Strodni Cassasola led the attack, hitting a home run in the 5th inning, as he, Taalib Smith and Anthony Ifield scored 3 runs each. The Bulldogs collected 12 hits off Digi pitcher Chadwick Ysaguirre, who struck out 2 batters, but walked 7. The Digi diamond made 6 errors, allowing Marcelyn Salam to cross the plate twice, while Terrence Salam, Norma Seguro, Allister Scott, Curtis Bradley and Edie Rosado scored a run apiece.
Digi got 3 hits off Evita Marin, who also walked a batter. The Bulldogs’ diamond made only 2 errors, and only Otis Clother and Lupito Acosta scored a run each in the 1st inning.
In Friday’s nightcap, the Health Heartbreakers canned the B&B Brewers, 17-4, by mercy rule in the 5th inning, as they collected 14 hits off Rhoda Lu, who walked 4 batters. The Brewers’ diamond made 5 errors, forcing the Heartbreakers to leave 7 runners on base. The Heartbreakers’ pitcher Andrew Castillo, Sonia Augustine and Enaim Dominguez scored 3 runs each; Giovanni Williams and Keiron James scored 2 runs apiece; and Neil Nicholson, Jacqueline Williams and Ashley Hemsley each scored a run.
The Brewers got 4 hits off Castillo, who struck out one batter and walked 7. The Heartbreakers’ diamond made 3 errors, forcing the Brewers to leave 5 runners on base, and only Alex Ellis, Rhoda Lu, Sean Reneau and Aaron Meighan scored a run each.
In Game 1 on Saturday afternoon, the Belize Water Services had established a comfortable 13-2 lead, when they were found to be using an illegal player, and the game was thus forfeited, 7-0, to the Atlantic Bank/Customs for their first win.
In Game 2 on Saturday evening, the Belize Tax Service Kollectaz collected a mercy rule win over the Maritime Enforcers, 21-6, in the 3rd inning. The Kollectaz hammered Ameera Marin’s pitching as Koby Mayen, Brion Neal, Kenreen Gillett, Vodalee Wade, Nirza Ramirez and Melissa Danderson scored 2 runs apiece; while Anthony Coleman, Dejuan Peyrefitte and Samuel Nicholson each scored a run. The Enforcers collected 2 only hits, as Steven Pandy and Justin Gillett each scored twice, and Boris Villanueva and Sherwin Valerio scored a run apiece.
In Sunday’s nightcap, the Belize Bank Bulldogs enjoyed their 2nd win of the weekend, 21-8, by mercy rule over the M.O.E. Chiefs. The Bulldogs collected 12 hits off Steve Moody, who struck out 4 batters and walked 3. Terrence Salam led the Bulldogs attack, hitting a home run, as he and Allister Scott crossed the plate 4 times each. Marcelyn Salam, Strodni Cassasola, Taalib Smith and Gustavo each scored 2 runs, and Anthony Ifield, Norma Seguro and Leni Logan scored a run apiece.
The Chiefs collected 11 hits off Evita Marin, who also walked a batter, as Mushae McDonald and Hiram Cadogan each scored 2 runs, while Bruce Bennett, Ahakeem Danderson and Shantel Yearwood scored a run each.Â
