BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Nov. 30, 2023
Belize’s Lady Jaguars continued the sweep in their Concacaf League C Group A with a 5-1 “road” victory over Bonaire tonight to top their group with 15 points from 5 games played, in which the only goal conceded so far was against Bonaire, where Belize did not have the services of star midfielder/defender Miriam Villamil. (Miriam reportedly suffered a broken leg in a local Women’s League match last week and will require surgery, for which her family is still seeking financial assistance.)
In tonight’s match in the Stadion Antonio Trenidat in Rincon, Bonaire, Belize got goals from Khalydia Velasquez (18’), Sabrina Eiley (41’ & 49’) and Carlene Tillett (81’ & 90+3’); while Bonaire’s lone goal was by Vurgy-Ann Visers (28’).
Belize’s final League C Group A match will also be “on the road” against Aruba on December 4.
