BVA 2019 Beach Volleyball Tour Stop #2 winners

BELIZE CITY, Tue. Apr. 2, 2019– The Belize Volleyball Association’s (BVA) 2019 Beach Volleyball Tour Stop #2 was held at Kukumba Beach, Old Belize on March 30 & 31, 2019. 11 male teams and 6 female teams were registered. The winning teams were:

FEMALES: 1st Place – Fatima Ramirez & Gareth Bruce; 2nd Place – Mya Musa & Ayah Safa; 3rd Place – Kelsey Balderamos & Allyana Musa.

MALES: 1st Place – Francis Hauze & Michael Jenkins; 2nd Place – Gustavo Morataya & Aldair Pena; 3rd Place – Joseph Carnegie & Edgar Martinez.

In the female competition, Fatima Ramirez & Gareth Bruce won first place by defeating Ayah Safa & Mya Musa (21-12, 21-16) in the final, while Francis Hauze & Michael Jenkins defeated Gustavo Morataya & Aldair Pena (21-15, 21-17), taking the win for the males. Joseph Carnegie & Edgar Martinez placed third after defeating Badyr Sajia & Zak Sajia (21-16, 19-21, 15-6) for the males. For the females, Kelsey Balderamos & Allyana Musa took home the third place prize after defeating Emma Hoare & Isabelle Swasey (21-11, 21-16).

Cash prizes for this event were: 1st – $500; 2nd – $300; and 3rd – $200.

Stop #3 is scheduled for Easter weekend (April 20 & 21) in Caye Caulker.
