The Corozal Elite FC enjoyed their first win, 6-0, over the Cayo Dreamers FC in Week 3 of the Women’s National Amateur Interdistrict Championship tournament organized by the Football Federation of Belize, at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio on Saturday night, August 17.

Fourteen-year-old Betsy Perez was back from the CONCACAF U15 tournament in Trinidad to deliver the first goal (18’). Other goals came from Maria Interiano (26’), Nelly Padilla (29’), Noriely Herrador (63’) and Nigelee Myers (83’). They also profited when Cayo defender Maria Thompson (58’) accidentally deflected the ball into her own net.

At the FFB Stadium earlier on Saturday evening, Tori Chaplin’s strike (73’) salvaged a 1-1 draw for the Cattle Landing Dolphins, after Maria Pineda (56’) had struck first for Las Flores FC.
