DANGRIGA, Stann Creek District, Sun. July 7, 2019– Over the weekend, the Stann Creek Football Association (SCFA) hosted the Dangriga Mayor’s Cup knockout semifinals on Friday night at the Carl Ramos Stadium, and then on Sunday, it was Week 1 games in the SCFA Smart Mundialito Tournament at the same venue.

Mayor’s Cup Semifinals

In the low scoring opening semifinal on Friday night, July 5, Foreshore Empire clipped Pomona Warriors, 1-nil, on a goal by Carlos Lino (15’).

However, there was no scarcity of goals in the semifinal nightcap, where Young General (YG) came out on top, 5-4, over Sampson Proper Fix. Shaking the net for Young General (YG) were Fredrick Flores (28’), Andres Makin, Jr. (45’ & 69’ PK), Brandon Cacho (61’) and Byron Chavez (83’); while for Sampson Proper Fix, it was Aaron Lopez (36’), Dwayne Sampson (41’), Michael Lewis (51’) and Horace Avila (64’).

Smart U-13 Mundialito Week 1

This afternoon at the Carl Ramos Stadium, the SCFA Smart U-13 Mundialito kicked off with 3 games played in Week 1 of the competition. In game 1, Pomona Warriors dropped Benguche, 3-0, with a goal apiece from Dorian Pabon, Tyron Castillo, Jr. and Kenyon Roches. Game 2 saw New Site Tire Depot with the 5-0 win over Foreshore Empire with a goal each from Zyon Nasario, Dorian Fernandez, Ceneia Fernandez, Tyler Arana and Kenneth Cacho. And in game 3 it was South Side Warriors blasting Harlem, 8-0, with 3 goals apiece from Direll Salguero and Jashua Vialta, and 1 each from Dornell Marshall and Khalydia Velasquez.
