Denfield Tasher, 30, shot in Ladyville

LADYVILLE, Belize District, Mon. Oct. 21, 2019– Denfield Tasher, 30, a construction worker of Nightingale Street, is recovering at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) from a gunshot injury in his lower back. He was shot by an unknown gunman who fired at him several times, and then escaped.

Tasher was rushed to the KHMH, where he was admitted in a serious but stable condition.

The incident occurred at about 10:30 Friday night at the corner of Tapnachick and Pigeon Streets. Police said that on their arrival at the scene, they saw Tasher on the road with a gunshot injury to his lower back.

Tasher told police that he and his brother were talking in front of the store when a man came up and fired at them. His brother was not hit.

So far, no one has been arrested, and the motive for the shooting is not known.
