BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Mar. 19, 2020– Last Friday at Rogers Stadium, the Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) held its female and male softball championships. Emerging victorious for the females was Edward P. Yorke High School, who defeated Ladyville Technical High, 24-9, in finals; while for the males, it was Wesley College winning, 10-0, over Ladyville Technical for the championship.

MALES: Most Strikeouts – Terrence St. Clair (Wesley College); Most Wins – Zion Conorque (Ladyville Tech); Most Stolen Bases – Jaheed Cabañas (Maude Williams High); Most Runs Batted In (RBIs) – Sherwane Hendy (Ladyville Tech); Best Batting Average – Edrei Sosa (E.P. Yorke); Most Valuable Player – Terrence St. Clair (Wesley College).
E.P. Yorke High School girls and Wesley College boys will represent the Central Zone at the NSSSA softball championships to be hosted by Belmopan Comprehensive School at the Joan Garbutt Stadium in Esperanza Village at a date to be set after passage of the COVID-19 crisis.
