BELIZE CITY, Sun. Oct. 6, 2019– Rodman Welch, 33, a stevedore of Belize City, who works as a security guard at Excelsior High School on Fabers Road, is in a critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) after an unknown gun man shot him in the face at about 10:30 last night while he was on duty at the school.
Police said that while Welch was eating in the security booth at the school’s compound, a man went to the security booth and shot him through the side window.
The gunman then ran out of the compound.
Welch was rushed to the hospital, where he has been declared to be in a critical but stable condition.
Police are investigating the shooting, the motive for which, they say, is unknown.
