TRINIDAD, Orange Walk District, Thurs. Dec. 12, 2019– At about 5:30 this morning, Leonardo Vasquez, 23, a farmer of Trial Farm, Orange Walk District, who was driving his motorcycle on the La Union Road from Trial Farm to August Pine Ridge, Orange Walk District, slammed into a tractor in a head-on collision and died almost immediately.

Police say that the motorcyclist fell onto the road, and died from massive head and body injuries. The motorcycle, which was lodged under the tractor, erupted in flames, causing the wheels of the tractor to ignite, and also begin burning.

Police are investigating the accident. We understand that no Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) has been served.
