BELIZE CITY, Mon. Feb. 20, 2023

Sometime during the night on Saturday, February 18, Grace Primary School’s Fabers Road compound was burglarized by thieves, and an assortment of items were stolen.

According to reports, at around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 19, a passerby observed the building and, upon noticing that there had been a break-in, contacted the authorities, but there was no response. Another passerby also noticed what had taken place at around 4:00 p.m. and immediately contacted the school’s vice principal, who then contacted the general manager of the school, and a little after 5:00 p.m. the authorities arrived at the scene.

It was reported that the thieves had ransacked the cafeteria area, where the burglar bars were pried open, and a range of food supplies were stolen or handled, thus the remaining food will be thrown away. Also, burglar door locks at the entrance to the vice principal’s office were removed and the office was looted. The thieves stole a desktop computer along with a variety of office supplies.

They also targeted the teachers’ bathroom and stole some cleaning supplies.

Amandala reached out to the vice principal of the school for comment; however, they declined an interview.

On the school’s social media page, it was noted that Grace Primary’s Amara Avenue campus was twice burglarized between December 2022 and last month, January 2023.
