Human bones found in Belmopan sewage

GeneralHuman bones found in Belmopan sewage

Police have no clue as to whom the bones belong

BELMOPAN, Mon. Oct. 8, 2018– Human remains were found Friday at the Belize Water Services (BWS) sewage plant in Belmopan near the Agricultural Show Grounds. Police have no idea whose bones they are.

The remains, which are simply a jawbone and two shoulder bones, were found around 9:45 a.m., and they are said to belong to a male who died 2 to 3 months ago. That is all the information that is available at this time.

It should be noted that it is possible that the bones could have come from another location and drifted until they reached the sewage plant. According to the police, all the manholes are connected at the specific area where the bones were found. Police have conducted searches in the area, but no more bones have as yet been discovered.

Police are also checking missing person reports from about 2 to 3 months ago to see if there is a possibility that the bones belong to one of the persons who went missing around that time.
