Inquiring minds RE: Stann Creek Pier

LettersInquiring minds RE: Stann Creek Pier

Dear Editor,
It used to be a blessing. Now it is a curse. What was so bad about the deal the previous government made to resuscitate the pier that it could not be saved by tweaking? I can see another multi-million dollar lawsuit coming. I can also hear the reverberation coming from potential investors. Funny, there was silence coming from the Chamber of Commerce, and where were the two Stann Creek area reps?

Will someone question the P.M. as to why negotiation was not pursued before cancellation of the contract? Was this project a threat to ongoing pier development? Definitely not! Achieving the goals of this project would have been challenging, so will someone tell me why it was cancelled instead of negotiated? Inquiring minds sincerely want to know.

Thanks,
Henry Young, Sr.
