Amandala visited the KHMH, where we spoke with Hernandez?s mother, Audrey Willis, 42, as she watched her son in pain at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Hernandez?s condition, said his mother, seems to be improving, even though doctors have told her that her son would not be normal again if he recovers from his ordeal. Hernandez was shot once in the back of the left ear, and the bullet, which had entered the brain, is still lodged there, An x-ray taken earlier today, said his mom, shows the exact area where the bullet is lodged in the brain. Audrey said that the last time she saw her son was at 11:00 on Wednesday morning when she left home to go to work. She is still not certain what happened leading to her son?s shooting. She said she was informed by a nephew who came to meet her as she made her way home shortly after 9:00 after her son was shot. Hernandez, said police, was in the area hanging out with some friends right around the time of the riot. Willis said that doctors would like to operate on her son again, but at this moment, it is too risky, as his brain is swollen. Late this evening, Hernandez, who seems to be hearing his mother?s voice, had tried to open his eyes, but progress is slow. At press time tonight, police say they have not arrested anyone in connection with this latest shooting.
