Garay told Amandala this evening that minutes after the two had a heated argument, she went up the street to take a walk, leaving him alone with their one-year-old daughter, who was sleeping in her crib.

She said that before leaving the house, she told Bailey that she was leaving him, but she was not serious.

She said that she returned 10 minutes later to find him hanging from a beam at the entrance of their bedroom door?their bedroom sheet wrapped around his neck.

The couple had been living together at the home for three years, and Bailey had tried to end his life once before, said Radiance. He placed a rope over a beam in the bathroom and stood on a bucket that he had placed in the middle of the bathroom, but she stopped him from killing himself, she told us.

She said that the two of them seldom had problems, and that Bailey was generally a very quiet person.

He had been separated from his legal wife, whose name was not revealed to us, for more than three years. The two had four children – ages 16, 14, 10 and 9.

Alton Bailey had worked as a security guard for the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for four years, and was most recently posted at the Surgical Ward area.

Bailey is also survived by his mother – Dorothy Bailey; father – Alton Bailey I; five sisters, and his five children: Alton Bailey III, Julissa, Shahira, Jasmine and Zhariah Bailey.

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 1.
