Her body was found a week after she disappeared

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. Oct. 18, 2018– A mother of two children has been found dead after she was missing for seven days. Felina Margaret James, 37, dropped off her children at a babysitter a week ago, and concerns began growing when she didn’t return for them. Belize has become such that most Belizeans were fearing the worst, and the worst has come to pass.

On Saturday, October 13, Ivette Roches, 69, reported to police that two days earlier, on Thursday, October 11, James left her two sons, ages 2 and 7, in her care. The two women had arranged for Roches to babysit the kids while James went to her home in the beautiful seacoast village of Sarteneja, Corozal District, to pick up some items, because she was in the process of moving to Belize City.

James had told Roches that she would be back for the children on Friday, October 12. She then left in a red Kia Sorrento. Police had been asking the Belizean public to look out for such a vehicle.

According to police, James has a husband in Sarteneja, and after a misunderstanding that occurred between them on Wednesday night, October 10, she decided to move to Belize City.

Police are questioning both him and a man who is believed to be her current boyfriend, in relation to the investigation.

Yesterday in Belmopan, police made some progress in their search for James. In the capital city, Belmopan City Council workers who were cutting the grass near the Lands Department discovered some IDs, as well as bank and credit cards. Upon closer inspection, they found that the cards belonged to James.

Tragically, around 7:00 tonight a body was found on the Coastal Road. Shortly after, the body was identified as that of the ill-fated wife and mother, Felina Margaret James. Not much additional information is available at this time, apart from the body’s identity.
