Mayor Wagner elected president of Belize Mayors Association

BELIZE CITY, Fri. Mar. 26, 2021– On Friday the Belize City Council announced that Mayor Bernard Wagner was elected president of the Belize Mayors Association for a term of one year. Reports are that he was unanimously chosen to serve as president for the one-year period.

Mayor of Corozal Town, Rigo Vellos was elected vice president and Mayor Sharon Palacio of Belmopan was appointed secretary of the association. Mayor Charles Selgado was appointed treasurer.

A release from the Belize City Council said, “The Belize City Council strongly commends all members of the Mayors Association for exercising due process in selecting its new executive team. We are highly enthusiastic about the continued collaboration of all the Mayors of Belize and extend our full support to their united mission of creating a better country for every citizen.”
