CAYO DISTRICT, Mon. Jan. 10, 2022– A motorcyclist lost his life in a road traffic accident that took place on Saturday night on the George Price Highway near Cotton Tree Village, in the Cayo District. Josue Ramos was reportedly riding his motorcycle, in the company of a female passenger identified as Elsie Bardalez, around 11:00 o’clock that night when he lost control of the bike while heading toward Belmopan. The motorbike then crashed into the pavement of the highway near Cotton Tree, and Ramos was severely injured in the head and body as a result. He reportedly died on the spot.
His female passenger, Bardalez, received injuries to her knees and wrist and was transported to the Western Regional Hospital. There is no indication at this time if alcohol played a role in this tragic accident.
Police continue to investigate this incident.
